Firearm repair rules/ laws.
Are there rules / laws that only permit certified people to repair your firearms or are you allowed to repair your own? If its something like replacing a trigger or some other mechanism that can be removed/ replaced mechanically. Just curious.
Re: Firearm repair rules/ laws.
Yep, do whatever you want to your own. Mess about with a pressure bearing part may need to be reproved if passed on. But triggers, and what have you, change at will.
Likewise, if you need pressure bearing parts for a repair, you’ll need a FAC variation or RFD to obtain them. Sections 3 & 4 of the 1968 Act and Home Office Guidance is worth a look at.

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

If you do it by way of trade or business then you need an RFD, otherwise as long as possession rules are observed then it would appear to be OK.
