OK, but if you lean your gun against your car boot and reverse over it, or one of Christel's reloads is a wee bit hot because you just p1ssed her off a tad too much, then wot?

Heh! I am the one that runs hotter loads, regardless they are insured. I have a feeling it was Heather that Christel spoke to on this subject when she was checking.

The third party you are talking about...don't you mean Public Liability?

BASC

All members are covered under the BASC insurance policy, both when they are shooting with the club or syndicate and anywhere else. The basic cover is as follows: Public Liability insurance: £10 million Employer Liability insurance: £10 million Product Liability insurance: £10 million Personal Accident insurance: £35,000

I can't see what the rifle and scope itself is covered for?

Not by BASC. That would be under Home contents...all risks.

So if you have £25K of contents and £25k of rifles you had better be covered for 55k.

Right,

So there is a difference between the insurance provided by the NRA and BASC.
I am fairly certain that each outfit owned is insured up to 5k with the NRA.

But is the cover all risks?

I was emailed all the info and of course I can't find it now.

Maybe this is a Q for the NRA section.

From memory the 5k covers each outfit, rifle and scope and whatever else you have fitted on it. So if stolen it is insured up to 5k.
If run over by a truck and smashed, 5k.
If blownup, 5k.
