That was quite a gift back then and from such a small country as well.

Lesotho is known as the Mountain Kingdom, and it is a beautiful little country. It is amazing that they managed to raise the funds to purchase those Spitfires, and we owe a great debt of gratitude to them for it.

U leboha, batho ba Lesotho. clapclap

I agree a very worthwhile gesture, shame it has taken so many years to recognise their contribution. How many others have risked their lives or contributed yet remain forgotten - too many.

A couple of years ago I went (with my family) to France with a family member to visit his families WW I grave. So many cemeteries and so many unknown soldiers yet the cemeteries were immaculate, well kept and a credit to those who keep them maintained.

My Son has a project on WW II at the moment and he found this, which for some reason I have found quite moving.

Is it just me or was Remembrance Day dumbed down by the media this year?

Geek: That image is awesome...I shot with a couple of old Vietnam vets in the US. Amazing people...the mind was still sharp but the body was letting them down.

That image sums it up.
