Worth a mention for all the good Sir Joseph Nickerson did around here and further afield.

There is a museum in Rothwell which is open 4 times a year. Well worth a visit.

An absolute legend in modern farming and he could shoot as well. I am always blown away by the kind words and respect the local game shooters and game keepers have for him to this day. I had one of his dogmen in just last week and it was a real privilege to just sit and listen to the tales of this man and his dogs. His book a Shooting Man's Creed is well worth a look and often available for under a tenner if you have a hunt.
