I am sure my gran had the address but communists, Africa, 2 family migrations apartheid mde us travel pariahs - and her death in 93.

so in effect it had later in effect had been lost to me

I have one or 2 photos of TA Stewart if there is any interest

This thread has been challenging and cathartic

It does throw up some interesting facts or snippets. One day I put in a variation of my surname and found that there were just 14 deaths recorded under that name ... so I clicked on each and found that two had the same parents and a third was from the same town in the Aussi outback so probably a cousin.

A very close Family Friend of mine was Pilot Officer Crook, I have quite a lot of his stuff, uniform, medals, flight log, POW Diary, I think I have a clock from Liberator also, along with some papers and photos, maybe I have some that feature your Grandfather? I tried PM'ing you but it wouldnt let me as I am too new.

Absolutely fascinating, I bet there's a wealth of stuff we could all share on here - some of it still to be discovered in family history and long forgotten boxes of keepsakes..
