Your choice of defence post apocalypse?

If we entered a time of Civil Unrest/Armageddon/Zombie Attacking, what would we do?

She has
Ballistic absorbing qualities
Is big enough to hide behind, standing or laying down,
Can move herself around so does not need to be carried,
Is an extra set of eyes and a big mouth,
Armed with Pretty big fists, arms, elbows and feet,
Can watch food cook,
Can gather resources, although god knows few are useful,
Is blond so is naturally dangerous - especially when driving,
Knows a bit about first aid,
Her clothes fit me,
Is warm at night,
Could be used to distract or lure men,
Contains enough meat to live of for several days,
1 week in 4 is more deadly than a attack helicopter,
And wont be surprised when I dump her when the going gets hard...

That bit about her clothes fitting you.
...is this something you've not told her about yet?

No doubt SimG will be along soon with that "This thread is useless without pictures" icon.

The first sign of anything shooting she walks away, unless she knows I have my debit card in my hand, then she takes a strangely over zealous interest - normally around the price of said item. What she does not know is that I have the latest receipt for a pair of shoes she got before Christmas. Keeping that banked for another day.

Saddler - good point, no she refuses to buy a proper winter coat, but likes to take my Mountain Equipment coat when it is nasty, leaving me without. I am not bitter..
Without order and without a goal, six million people unarmed and unprovisioned, driving headlong. It was the beginning of the rout of civilisation, of the massacre of mankind.

Just from the array of weapons available "close by"...

.22lr HK416 for the majority of everything... a few bricks of ammo fits in your pockets (combats) that's a few hundred rounds without breaking a sweat, it's accurate out to 100 yards for the purposes of popping Z in the head and it'll make enough of a mess to stop them, any further and you pick up the Rem 700 .223 (5.56 chambers nicely and there should be no shortage of them should I wish to go out looking).

12 gauge for safe house defence against humans or the dead ones, probably chop the barrel down on a s/s or o/u for manoeuvrability - by this point theres no "law" to worry about and plenty of ammo about, if you know where to look.

Machete for personal defence.... it cost me a lock on my suitcase bringing it back from america in December, but I got a nice SOG 15" tactical jobby that's good for stabbing, swiping, and teeth on the back of the blade for sawing... useful kit...

And if SHTF a smith and wesson locking folding blade for any super "close encounters"...

a .22lr pistol would be welcomed, but I don't have one "to hand"...
Winchester lever action would be nice too, but .38/.357 is less available in these parts...

Definitely not given it any thought though... :p

There's a Mosin in that barrow. Behind the Remy 700.

Our chief weapon is surprise, surprise and fear, fear and surprise. Our *two* weapons are fear and surprise, and ruthless efficiency. Our *three* weapons are fear and surprise and ruthless efficiency and an almost fanatical dedication to the pope. Our *four*... No... Amongst our weapons... Amongst our weaponry are such elements as fear, surprise and stuff.

lmt 308 straight pull for most things

would a straight pull ar-15 work in cqb situation with armed up zombies? I think it would work; movement and fire and cover
