Froggy: Rally as many of the other potential victims as possible to have a group "rush". In the 1,5 secondes it takes to run 8 meters the shooter can merely fire more than 3/4 rounds that will be badly adjusted due to the projectiles just thrown. As shooters, we all know a bullet does not have a magical guiding system that will make them hit every single fast moving targets...
Ah but froggy, you forget that Brits have been programmed to believe that REAL guns are like movie guns where everyone shot dies and that the bad guys are expert shots, which in the main they are not. Because the sheeple have been terrorised to fear guns it's unlikely that they would do anything but give up.

Hide??

Get out - fast! Hiding has been shown to be ineffective as by the time help does arrive and eventually enter the building the bad guys have had time to look for you. That happens.

Hiding is a last resort; school and other shootings have shown admirably that hiding in a room is a sure fire way of getting killed.

In all of the "advice" out there, few give advice on how to improvise weapons etc etc - In the UK that would probably be seen as "unacceptable" and inciting violence" and be frowned on deeply by Plod. There is also the question / issue of how the population has been dumbed down to the point where being a victim is morally superior to seriously injuring or maiming the nutter trying to kill you!

Realistic training in the workplace can be counter-productive for employers with people claiming to be traumatised, terrified etc etc etc etc - nanny state has won.

At any rate, it's down to mindset and the will to survive.

If somebody is genuinely trying to kill you and you can get the chance then surely this method would be quite effective. NWS

But, most people would be too squeamish to try.

Yes 25 - good eye-dea lol , once thumbs are firmly inserted into eye sockets repeatedly bash the head off a hard surafce wallhead wallhead till all signs of threat has stopped. ;)

True what you say as victims are often scared of hurting their attacker.......it's human nature not to want to hurt another human being (well for most of us)..To others, fighting back is just not proper and being a victim is morally superior - it makes them the "better person" somehow. kukkuk In their funny minds, defending your life makes you "just like them" 5mith - now that really IS crazy messed up thinking.

The rolled and folded newspaper works, like polemass said. No one can stop you taking a newspaper anywhere.

Its easy to talk what people would or should do. What would peope do in the real world like bellow.
A memorial service has been held to mark the 40th anniversary of the murder of 10 Protestant workmen by the IRA in the Kingsmills massacre.
The victims - textile factory workers - were shot dead when an IRA gang ambushed their mini-bus in 1976 near the County Armagh village of Kingsmills.
After checking their religion, the gang ordered one Catholic colleague to leave.
Only one man survived the shootings.
The Greysteel massacre was a mass shooting that happened on the evening of 30 October 1993 in Greysteel, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Three members of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), a loyalist paramilitary group, opened fire in a crowded pub during a Halloween party, killing eight civilians and wounding thirteen. The pub was in an Irish Catholic and Irish nationalist area. The group claimed responsibility using their cover name "Ulster Freedom Fighters" and said that the attack was revenge for the Shankill Road bombing a week earlier.
