Camouflage patterns

I'm in the market to buy a snugpak sleeping bag.

Not an every day purchase so I'm keen to get this right.

This will occasionally be used in the field in harbour areas and in the woods recreationally.

What pattern do you prefer and why?

There's only £5 difference between the two.

The yanks seem to have a preference for atacs, but I think its less arid here in the UK, so may not be as suitable.

Neither - The more efficient the camo is , the more risk you'r running someone takes a leak on top of you ... :run:

Or, when you go for a pee in the bushes, you won't be able to find it again.....

Which particular snugpak sleeping bag, out of interest?

I see nothing wrong with olive drab to be honest.

This doesn't appeal then?

Thanks dark skies, I think I'll go for the tacticool option instead.

Hi RDC, I'm planning on buying the "Special forces complete system".

There are numerous reasons for this. I have both the standard and jungle issue sleeping bags, the standard one's far too bulky but very warm and the jungle one is really compact, but I've been freezing on a warmish summers night.

My thoughts are that I could use the SF1 as a light weight summertime sleeping bag for under a basha and my Mrs. could use the SF2 for a bit of bushcraft. If it came to it both could be combined to make an extra warm winter sleeping bag.

I'm definitely thinking multicam is more in keeping with the terrian that we have here, so atacs is a second favourite as things stand.

There is a Russian variation of m84 called Ryaska (duck weed) which is effective and is a subtle variation of Flectar-D (D = Denmark).

There's a huge collection of swatch patterns of camo here:

Snugpak don't make their sleeping systems in all those patterns though, gents.

DL, Good choice, you'll be pleased with it as a complete system. Certainly beats by a country mile any of the issue kit in both packability and comfort.

As for camo, the multicam option is more suitable than the arid ATACS they also offer it in for out climate.
