I will only use Guhring Cobalt sets, I am on my 4th set (10 years) and for general stuff they are perfect. I use the 1.0mm-13.0mm in 0.5 increments and the 1.0 to 10.0mm which is a tap drill set so 4.2mm/6.8mm etc. I did buy an alternative Cobalt set, same price different make last years and they were just not to the same standard. Also, Guhring drill to size which many alternatives do not.

For tough repetitive stuff I use solid carbide stub drills, Guhring and the first choice again. For taps I will only use Volkel, unless really, really pushed, then I look for SKF or Sherwood or a similar name.
