Tikka T3x - Scope Mounting?

#1 Post by East Coast Lifeboat »

Good Evening,
I have recently purchased a Tikka T3x stalking rifle. Already added a Barton sound mod, Harris bi-pod, and a Tikka stock shim.

Looking for advice on the best scope mounting system. Once I have a scope set up I not going to be switching around with other glass or NV.

So Tikka Optilocs or Picatinny rail ?

All help and advice welcome.

Cheers

Hi.
I have the tikka optilocks on a few of my rifles and they are excellent.

You will not go wrong fitting them.

I am not familiar with Optilocks, but M1913 (Picatinney) rails are ubiquitous. You can find rings for them everywhere. If you want flexibility, I'd go in that direction. I am retrofitting all my rifles with them as they come up for re-scoping.

Yesterday I fitted a Spuhr Mount to my Tikka Tac A1 and it’s was perfect. Cost a bit but amazing mount.

Yes, Spur mounts are simply superb and sadly copied by others.

I know what you mean. I looked at the Tier 1 mounts at the shooting show. They felt a little like the Spuhr.
