In no particular order (FAC and SGC):

Where do I shoot
Why do i want a shotgun certificate as well
Whats my day job
What tablets do i take
Does anyone else live in the house with me

The rest was just general chit chat. He spent more time explaining the standard conditions of the certificates to me.

Thanks Rock. I can cover all that no bother.

Another little question is my referee is asking what sort of questions he'll be asked? Anyone have experience of this?

FAC Questions

#123 Post by safetyfirst »

Usually just "how long have you know them, do you consider them suitable and safe to possess a firearm"

Though nobody called my referees for my renewal and only one of the two was called for my grant, I could be mad as a shoe for all they know.

Cheers. Both referees get called up here with face2face a possibility too.

Regarding the suitability to have firearms question I usually answer with "I know of no reason why the person should not have firearms". Obviously so long as that is the case.

He left a voicemail with the first referee (who didn't see it and never rang him back!!). He rang the second one and just asked him if he knew me.
I think 99% of the process is how he feels about you in the first few minutes of meeting you.
My certificates turned up four days after the visit.

How long it takes usually after the visit and before the certificate is issued? Any rules?

No, it totally depends on the local firearms certification department.

Some are quick others are glacially slow, and quick ones can become slow and slow ones can become quick.
