Fixed power scope

#1 Post by meles meles »

I'm looking for a a couple of inexpensive scopes, ideally 6x or 8x fixed magnification and with a mil dot reticule. It seems that fixed power scopes are almost extinct these days and the few I have seen have a Dual x reticule. Anyone got any suggestions? I've seen a Luger STD 6x scope that looks reasonable value for money, though it too has only a Dual X reticule. The scopes will be used on rimfire rifles, occasionally on a 6.5 x 55 centre fire.

An alternative to the Luger seems to be the Richter Optik 6x40. This has a mil dot reticule and is a little cheaper too. Anyone have any experience of these brands ? I'm not expecting them to match a Schmidt and Bender or Lisenfeld, just perform reliably on a couple of rimfires....

I had a look at a Richter today, but didn't like it. It seems well made for the money but the optics weren't great. I know it's only cheap but even so, I expected better. Just need to track down a Luger now and take a peek through it... unless of course you oomans can recommend something else? Maybe a Leaper?

Hmm. Not quite 6x or 8x but what about an Edgar Brothers clone of the Super Sniper 10x with mildot?

We said inexpensive ooman. Us Badgers aren't minted...

Luger v Seeadler is the question we're currently debating.
