Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

This rule applies to the entire forum.

The Hunting Lodge

Ordered a Hornady "Cam-Lock Trimmer" and 2 shell holders online from The Hunting Lodge on Monday (7th May) evening.

Early the next morning I had an email from them apologising that they were out of stock of the Trimmer, so they offered an alternative trimmer, or a refund.

As I specifically wanted that trimmer, i asked for a refund, which they did within minutes..... Excellent Customer Service..!

On the other hand, I then (morning of 8th May) ordered the same trimmer from a well known shop in Norfolk.... 4 days later it was still listed as "processing".

I gave them a quick call this morning, and apparently they were also out of stock, but they had new stock arrive Friday but didn't get time to dispatch it, so it should be dispatched "Monday or Tuesday"... but no communications, apologies for delay, etc...

This is the 2nd (and last!) time I've ordered from this shop... the first time a year or so ago I ordered a primer swaging die and 500 PPU bullets. After a week and a half i'd heard nothing, so rang and found out they were awaiting stock of the bullets... when asked when they were expecting them, they didn't know..!

I cancelled the bullet order and just had the swaging die.

Sorry.. rant over... lol

If the second shop you are referring to starts with a U then in my experience the U stands for utterly useless.

One thing I've discovered about much of the gun trade is that if they haven't actually got what you want in their hand when you ring up, walk away.................I've been waiting for a Savage target accutrigger for weeks, now. The gunshop says they've ordered it, the importer tells me the shippers have it, but no-one apparently knows when or if it will arrive.
Savage could have simply popped it in a jiffybag and made a customer happy, but they patently don't give a toss............I expect the shipper is waiting until he's got a container full before sending it.
A bit like those turkish busses that leave only when they're full, not according to the timetable.
