Craig Whitsey Gunmakers - Still Trading?

Had a good experience with a gun shop or rifle maker? Found a good deal? Tell us about it. Had a bad experience, TELL THE GUN SHOP!

Forum rules
Posting of negative comments in the Gunshop section could bring unwanted criticism on the forum, having said that it is important to let members know if dealings with a Gunshop were less than ideal for you. To that end we will allow what will be known as the 'Scotsgun Ruling'

The Scotsgun Ruling:

>Add Gun Shop here<

"As I've yet to have a 'positive' experience there, I'll refrain from commenting further."

Beyond that please take it up with the Gunshop, if you do resolve the issue in a agreeable manner let us know!

This rule applies to the entire forum.

Craig Whitsey Gunmakers - Still Trading?

#1 Post by Dr. Strangelove »

Evening all,

I was wondering if anyone knows whether Craig Whitsey Gunmakers are still in business? I’ve tried the number listed on their website to no avail. Their returns don’t seem to have been filed since last year on Companies House, either.

https://craigwhitseygunmakers.co.uk/index.html is them.

Regards,

I spoke to him last year as he is the Secretary of Rustington Rifle Club. I live in Rustington and had zero knowledge of this clubs existence for 5 years which probably shows how active he is. I enquired about joining and got a reply of "Sorry there is a waiting list, I will put you on it". No further replies on the matter.

Together with Richard Wilson and Stuart Rankine, three of the best pistol-smiths that the U.K. had prior to 1997.

Having dealt with Peter this last year, I’ll refrain from commenting further…
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I’ve heard back from Craig via email - they are still making them and are in the middle of another production run at the moment. I’ll update the thread when they have them in stock!
