Tactical semi choice

#1 Post by Gazza »

Ok, I'm still dithering about my next purchase of a Sig 522
I've got an AR15 22 CMMG which I think is a great gun but how would you rate the 522 against it?
If you have had both which did you prefer?

You’ve got a CMMG, I don’t think you’ll get anything more for a 552.

If you don’t have a 10/22 in your cabinet, you should do. Everyone should have one! They are literally Mecano!!

But, if it has to be “military”, the Uzi or the Scorpion. Or even the MP40....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I had a .22 Uzi for a while but didn't gef on with it.
Put 400 rds though my 522 last Saturday....and a further 400 through it tonight. It ran virtually flawlessly apart from one or two failures to fire which I think is down to me not cleaning it properly.
I don't think you'll be disappointed if you decide on a 522.

A standard 10/22 isn't an option as I need a pistol grip due to arthritic wrists.
I have an available slot which is burning a hole in my pocket :D and as the ticket will be up for renewal soon I have to make a choice quite sharpish or lose the slot.
I don't want anything from GSG either as I'm not a fan of their guns.

What you want is a 12" barrel 15-22 and then if you're using a mag adapter on your CMMG they can use the same mags...

There are a range of drop in chassis/stocks for the 10/22 which have pistol grips..

The Magpul x-22 isn't a bad angle either.

From what you’ve said, my suggestion would be pick up a 10/22 for £150 second hand and buy one of the 25,493 aftermarket stock systems for it, with whatever grip you like.

They really are Mecano with one of the largest inventories of aftermarket parts available.

For a good range of stocks you can have a look at Brownells UK

I must admit I lie the look of this archangel stock (although would prefer black)
