Remington 597 VTR

#1 Post by bobcat »

Hi all,

Thinking of picking up one of these soon had a look at a couple of you tubes. Does any one have a experience and thoughts of it,

So far I have got not a bad 22 but a bit fiddly to take down.

Will be used for plinking and rabbits.

Cheers

I have a couple of normal 597's not the plastic tactical VTR's

They can take a bit of work to get cycling and feeding smoothly as the standard 10 round mags are crap, the plastic 30 round ones are much better as they feed properly without sticking, triggers can be heavy but a good clean out and a spring kit from mcarbo in the US sorted the trigger on one of them out, havent got around to ordering a second one for the other yet

If you are prepared to put a bit of time and effort into what is generally a fairly cheap rifle you can get them performing how they should do
