I saw an ad in shooting sports for a 308 lever release from SGC...

Are you sure? A couple of months ago Fat Bob said he wouldn't be doing a LR .308 for the "foreseeable future".....
It was in the latest Shooting sports, the words 308 Gas piston Lever release were there, part of me wondered if he's preemptively competing with Lodock and I'm guessing his definition of "foreseeable future" differs from most peoples......

after a year of waiting - I cancelled my order 6 months ago.....

Robinson just aren't interested in such a low volume niche product. Understandable really, we need UK manufactures other than SGC and Caledonian to step up to fill the demand in the market.

Were any sold in the UK commercially? Seems strange to step through the R&D hoop and not try and recoup your outlay...

From talking to the UK dealers they only ever had that one .308 that was at the BSS.

I had the money set aside for 6 months. I contacted Gerald about a month ago and he said that the production pars were made and undergoing testing. I don't know why the process has taken so long but I've seen on forums that Mr Robinson can be a bit difficult when it comes to customer service so you never know.
I've spent the cash on a .338 now though which I'm very happy with.
Maybe by the time I save up again they may be available?
