338 lapua magnum barrel life

Hi all.
I was wondering what the barrel life expectancy is on a 338 lapua magnum.cheers Berger

The only one I've ever borescoped had 1200 rounds down it and it was well goosed!

Shoot well? Mmm - can't answer that but I doubt it would be competition standard.

So, its pop about £00.50 in a Piggy Bank ready for barrel replacement every time you fire one of those bad boys? Or use cast Boolits and moderate loads of course. lol

I shot against an issue DK Army .338LM TRG42 a few years ago that was still in service with a few tours of Afghanistan under its belt and was remarkably accurate. It shot Lapua factory ammunition.
