Alternative triggers for Savage 12 F/TR

#1 Post by Pete »

Anyone replaced the Accutrigger on one of these?
I'm looking for possible alternatives, and so far have come up with a Rifle Basix Sav-2, and Timney (which appears to be just one component to go in the Accutrigger)
I'd like to hear from anyone who's fitted either of these.

Yes, I've fitted a Sav-2 trigger to my F-12. Very pleased with it, I've got it set at around 1lb. It was a direct replacement for the original target accu-trigger.
I bought it direct from Rifle-basix in the US, it came with a DVD on how to fit it.

I had a look at the installation vid on the Rifle Basix website, and I noticed that the trigger pivot pin can be fitted in one of three holes.
Does this give three different fore and aft positions of the trigger blade as well as altering the mechanical advantage?

Yes, I believe it does alter the trigger position - I really can't recall what hole I used now, it's a nice clean trigger, I haven't adjusted it for 4-5 years now.
