Im in love.

#1 Post by Alpha1 »

I am sat staring at a new bottom metal insert magazine holder for my Steyr SSG P1 I have tried to get my hands on one of these for years. Its beautiful it feels beautiful to the touch oh wow I think I want to have its babies. I don't care if I never fit it to the rifle. I finally have one. I will just fondle it for a short while then unfortunately I have to go to bed. But it will be there in the morning waiting for me. Ahhh life is good it's the simple things that make it bearable and I can not believe it was actually hand delivered to my door by the guy I bought it off. Well done Wildover77 you are a star Sir.

I fitted it to night.
It fits a treat I had to use the shims (washers) supplied with the kit but its fine. It feeds Ok and extracts without any issues. I'm a happy bunny. Just in time as well the old one fell to bits when I took It off. There was cracks across the screw mounting points when I took it off the bits of plastic parted. So the original one is only fit for the bin and the magazines are now surplus to requirements as they wont fit the new bottom metal.
I think the magazine that comes with the kit are accuracy international but I might be wrong on that one. I'm going to try and source a spare five rounder.

teanews hmm whats next. Oh yeah refurb a P14 stock and shim a T4 scope rail. Busy Busy.

If its the Styria one - I was first in UK to import one.

I ordered it when it was a plastic prototype !

Waited months for first production run. Sorry I ever sold that Steyr :-(

Assuming that the kit in the link below is exactly the same one, then it looks like it will take standard 308 AI magazines.

This bottom metal conversion makes the SSG so mutch a better rifle the accuracy international magazines are a game changer. WOW loving it. The rifle is a lot heavier with the metal mag well but I think it makes the rifle more stable. Just having fun and loving it.
