T3 dovetail rings fit the SSG only issue is there is no were for the recoil lug to go on the Steyr. I have milled the recoil lug off I will mount the scope and see how it goes. I got a set of Burris 30mm mounts in a sale.
I thought it was worth a punt. In the long term I think I know were I can get a dedicated rail.
hmm whats next. A bigger shed.
Advice required on SSG P1 scope mounts

Re: Advice required on SSG P1 scope mounts
It just occurred to me the original Steyr mounts dont have recoil lug either there is no were on the top of the reciever to fit one. The top of the reciever is dovetailed. The top of the dovetail is just flat metal. So it may not be an issue. We will see. I have a couple of full bore ranges this month I will give it a whirl.
hmm whats next I need a bigger lathe.

Sako TRG and Tikka T3 optilock bases and rings fit the SSG 69 P1.
Re: Advice required on SSG P1 scope mounts
Recknagel made Tip-off rings for the Steyr SSG 69. I actually found a 30mm set in one of my boxes of bits. I have a feeling there is another larger set some were if my memory serves me right.
So there you go I have several options open to me now. Moral of the story dont ever throw any thing out when it comes to shooting hoard stuff.
hmm whats next. Go shoot the SSG with the new nightforce scope.
