Steel Core anyone?

#1 Post by Racalman »

Anyone else here have a Steel Core LSR rifle?

https://steelcoredesigns.com/wp-content ... SR-PDF.pdf

I bought mine because so many people I shoot with use AIs and I wanted to be different. It's a fantastic gun and easily holds its own at 1,000 yards but I don't know anyone else who has one.

I shot one of these chambered in 338 Lapua at Sennybridge F range a couple of years ago, fitted with a suppressor. It was great fun, and definitely something different on the range! It was the first time shooting a 338 and I bet using a supressor makes a whole lot of difference. I can't remember the barrel length, it looked long so could've been the 27" variant. It made me want to buy one after that, but I have no need (or cash!) to be able to shoot a 338 right now.

The LSR is 7.62 and I have the 26" barrel. I only shoot it prone, mainly for 600 and 1,000 yard snaps and occasionally McQueen.

Nice trigger and very low recoil. It came with a 20MOA rail, muzzle brake, bipod and toolkit included. I replaced the brake with an ASE Utra moderator which makes it even nicer to shoot.
