What make are folks turning to for scope rings these days?

#1 Post by Ballistix »

Hi all,

I need to raise the height of my scope a tad currently on Warne Maxima High rings and will probably have to go up to extra high. For full bore rifles Warne steel rings and bases have always been my go to and I can’t fault them but they seem to be hard to buy now. Any good 30mm dia steel alternatives people recommended in UK?

All the best.

If you want the best - and British - then Tier One every time.

Burris rings with plastic inserts are my current choice. Not perfect, but I've not found better.

Tier one's are exactly as the name implies. I bought one of their unimounts some years ago (with 34mm rings if it matters) and whilst they're not advertised as retaining zero when detached they're pretty damn close. When replacing the mount and torquing down, I'm not often more than a click or two (0.1-0.2mrad) out from zero. Fantastic!

The OP did specify steel rings, are people sure T1 manufacture such a thing?
