Warne for me and never had an issue obtaining. Even for Ruger 77.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Thanks all. Really appreciate your views. It was indeed steel I was after just in line with my old school outlook on reliability of metal things and shooting accuracy.

I was concerned by Warne’s out of stock status on a lot of 30mm rings on their website and that they may be wrapping up but maybe it’s just because there has been a recent US election which usually strains the supply of firearms related products (I’m kidding).

All the best.

I wouldn't touch Warne rings with a barge pole.

Yeah, I'd like to know too. I have been using Warne rings for years and never had an issue.

I don't have three hands in order to fit them. Secondly, they are very difficult to shim, unlike horizontally split rings.

Lol you’re right I guess they are fiddly to fit but it doesn’t bug me too much.

So to continue the thread theme and to expand it a little. I ordered the highest rings available from Warne but they are still around 3mm too short for my application. Looks like I need 20mm ring height. If I do indeed turn to Tier One or similar I would be straying from my steel metal rings obsession. It’s for a .308. Are aluminium rings just as ok to maintain reliable zero and not snap in half these days?

It is a for a target rifle not for dragging around hunting or across mountains on military service.

Cheers for feedback.
