Pistol of Interest for 7.3 Collectors

24" and less, a place to discuss all things handgun related, section 7.3. Long barrelled revolvers, long barrelled pistols and section 5. Overseas contributions are more than welcome.

Hello

I am not aware that this pistol could be obtained and shot under section 7.3
Please correct me if I am incorrect with this assumption.

If you can justify it using any of the quallifying criteria you can have just about anything - glocks, FN2000's etc etc.

See page 56 onwards of the HO Guide on Firearms Licensing Law, qualifying criteria are:

Historical importance
Aesthetic quality
Technical interest
Particular rarity

See here for all the details:

So good luck with that.

It's an E series, by definition rare and because of that you have your good reason. You would have no problem getting it on 7.3

“E series” Hi Powers being issued to MI6 and the likes is a bit of a fallacy. The British government did buy some of that series, but then so did the German police, the Austrian police, European commercial sales etc.

It appears that the “rumour” began when a US importer bought a load and added sales patter.

It’s still a very nice version though, none the less.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

You'd probably be surprised how many 7.3 shooters there are.......all with a "good reason", as listed in page 56 onwards of the HO Guide on Firearms Licensing Law :good:

No luck needed. Do your research into the pistol you want on a section 7.3 make sure it's near to 100% correct information as you can & you should be granted it. That's what we have done for the 8 we now own and shoot.
I would have gone for this one myself but already have a Hi Power oh and a Glock 19.........

The Hi power ad was removed, but has now been relisted + this ad.

http://www.ndh-firearms.com/component/r ... olt-python Wow I know he says it's rare but almost £15,000 for a revolver. You would not want to shoot it at that price.
