Missing posts...
I think what may be happening is that when you submit a post after someone posted in between your starting the reply to submitting the reply, the system as I understand it shows you the intervening post. At this stage your new post has not been accepted...it gives you a chance to reconsider your post. You have to press submit again, otherwise it's lost.
Double takes...
I have had this happen to me and I think it is a function of hitting submit twice when the website is slow, for what ever reason. Wait for the first submission to register. It usually has.
Also, when I am writing a long reply, before I post I highlight my text and copy...if it then disappears, for what ever reason eg B'Band drops out... its easy to re-submit...just paste into new post and hit the tit again.
BTW when I see double posts I tidy up by deleting the second and any ref to it...to keep the flow etc

But I don't have a button on my back...
Without order and without a goal, six million people unarmed and unprovisioned, driving headlong. It was the beginning of the rout of civilisation, of the massacre of mankind.
Forever Autumn, War of the Worlds.
