Coming back to reloading
I used to reload for pistol back in the good old days before the Government made the streets safe but haven't done much for rifle since. My stock of RG 155 is dwindling and I'm not sure I can bring myself to pay almost a pound a round for RUAG etc.
Just had a quick look through the Midway site and there is a bewildering selection of cases and bullets. I'm not planning to do a lot of experimentation just work out a load that I can knock out to feed a casual club TR habit. Has anyone got a good recipe and any recommendations for bullets, cases, powders etc. I've still got all the hardware.
TIA

This is for TR?
Rox of this forum has developed a load to replicate the issue ammunition as closely as possible so he would be a good person to ask.
I would say Lapua .308 cases, CCI LR primers. Vihtavouri N140 powder and either Lapua Scenar 155's or SMK 155's would be a good start.
MidwayUk can be quite pricey for reloading components, depending on where you are it may be better to source them locally.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, the aim is to replicate a 'standard' target rifle load for 308 Winchester/7.62 mm.

PM Rox and see if he will share his load data with you as this is exactly what he is doing.

Re: Coming back to reloading
So you think you can handle a casual habit do you?
Many a good fellow has gone before you muttering "I can handle it" and "It's not often, just once or twice a month"
But before you know it you are thinking about the next time, it takes up your every waking thought and sometimes you dream about it too.
Your family comment that you are not the person you used to be, they hardly ever see you, and worse of all it starts to consume every penny you have - before you know it you are looking at the kiddies piggy banks to fund that next essential bit.
Your health will suffer too, always chasing the dragons tail of the perfect load. No good turning to your Doctor for help, they have no expertise in this field and god only knows that few family members will ever be able to lend any constructive advise.
Sadly the only help that you will be able to get are from forums like this, and far from being a dry house, we will only be encouraging that you try more ways of doing it and with different magical combinations.
So you think you can handle it?
Just the once?
Turn away now man before you lose everything,

DM, LMAO
Just what I needed on this cold murky Wednesday morning.
BTW, eBay is a good source for generating funds however it is a problem when one has run out of things to sell...

Such true words, you find yourself drawn to obscure websites to fuel your need, you pounce on the postman as he walks to your door clutching small jiffy bags and you spend hours tracking deliveries from far flung corners of the earth. It is even worse when your wife reloads as well because your need has to be justified to someone who knows exactly what you are talking about and probably has a more rational approach to the addiction.
Until it comes to anything associated with powder throwing that is
