Ammo Safe Question

#1 Post by pbrazendale »

Hi all,

I have bought a mechanical safe from B&Q to use as an ammo safe, it's a 25 litre one so should be enough for starting out. My question is does it have to be fixed to a wall like a gun safe? Or is it fine on my reloading bench?

Thanks in advance.

My first ammo safe was a tool box.
Not fitted to anything.

yes but since then we have combined smokeless powder and FMJ's, rather than BP and lead balls etc

IF you're putting Section 1 ammo in it then yes it needs to be fixed in place

I always used to have mine bolted to the floor, wall and gun safe in case someone tried to pull them off the wall. Even to this day all of our gun safes are bolted together. If someone can get them off the wall and out the door they are welcome to them :)
