Practical disciplines are a tough sell. They shouldn't need to be of course - they are a sporting event and pastime as valid as anything else - but until you see it at the Olympics no-one will be any the wiser.

Target? What distances are they shot at? If 10yds and 25m, air is perfectly capable of the same. The 50m and or rapid fire cartridge disciplines are obviously outside of this, but then that's smallbore...
I would be delighted if full-bore handguns made a return, but can you imagine debating it in Parliament?
You could apply the target shooting argument to all types of target shooting, no need for a firearms you could use simulators.
