. 22lr moderator problem

#1 Post by Sabertooth »

I have a problem with my Wildcat Panther moderator on my Lantac SF15. Its an over the barrel design and fouls the hand guard when screwed on causing a massive P. O. I change . I was hoping to use this mod on both my Lantac and RPRF. Can anyone think of a solution without a) getting another moderator, or b) spending £260 on the shorter hand guard?

Ask wildcat to make you a spacer. They’re very good with that sort of thing.

Does it foul by much? Could you remove some material from the inside of the handguard for clearance?

I had to do this with my 15-22 and a Wildcat Whisper, but that was just a plastic handguard i didn't mind filing.

Wildcat do make a shorter casing version for the Ruger Precision .22, its the same thread pitch and size as the 15.22 (not sure on the Lantac) so ask for the different size to add to yours.

I've just spoken to Alison at Wildcat and they are sending me a new part to hopefully fix the problem, and if it doesn't then they will look into other options. I knew buying British was the best and haven't been disappointed. I would like to say that dealing with Wildcat has been a pleasure and their after care is exemplary.

Wildcat are excellent.

Last time I went there to get a moddy for my MP5 they custom milled a bushing for me AND gave me a mince pie.

I had a similar issue with a Wildcat Predator 12.
I bought one with the 150mm reflex tube which is fine for my R55 Benchmark. I then got a Rimfire Magic and that Predator doesn't fit.
So I ordered the 110mm reflex tube from UK Custom Shop. Works great!
