Re: MA Gmeiner & Sohn Altenburg
Looking carefully at the chamber cast my view is the actual case length is around 24,0mm which would point to it being a 380 Long/9.8 x 24mmR and I have a feeling I have some 380 Long in the Armoury, unfortunately I do not have access to the ammunition register right now.
The stock really is beyond repair, it has cracked at the wrist and I would not consider repairing and that is despite having John Rhodes within coffee driving distance.

"Posts deleted" bit of a clue perhaps as to why you cannot see anything.

Not 100%
Re: MA Gmeiner & Sohn Altenburg
It has been a while... The poor old thing sat in a rack for a while until I decided to haul it out and at least get it looking like a rifle. The damaged tang section has been welded up, I would have attempted the repair with Tig however I was worried it would just explode, so I gave it to a friend who did it with Mig of all things and it turned out OK, just needs some tidying now. The stock is now glued and pinned and is good enough to use on the copy mill or maybe even shoot as it is.
I hauled the bore scope out and inspected the chamber and bore and it is remarkably good, certainly a lot better than some of the rifles I shoot, I guess the next thing is to find something to put through it.

I forgot to add it is almost certainly a .380 Rook (9.8 x 24mmR) A cut down .357mag case fits perfectly and I confirmed this by pushing the camera down from the other end. Unfortunately I have no cast bullets to suit as they are of the heeled type and .38 stuff will literally not touch the sides so I will need to be creative now if I am to get it shooting properly as opposed to making a noise.

Lots of people shoot this calibre, including me. Give me an address and I will post some to you. You don't need dies, just thumb seat them.
