#1 Post by Pippin89 »

Just popped my FAC/SGC application in the post.... Lets see how long it takes. Sussex is supposed to be one of the best! Fingers crossed they live up to expectations!

From date of posting to FAC dropping on my door took 8 weeks - Northumbria force, application sent in June this year.

(just checked and it was exactly 8 weeks, posted on a Thursday, FAC delivered on a Thursday)

According to this list, Northumbria and Sussex are very similar so 8 weeks should be a good benchmark.

A week and a half and I haven't heard anything yet.... This is agonising! Haha.

When is a reasonable time to call and ask for an update?

6-8 weeks.

Nothing pi$$es off someone dealing with a load of applications like this more than having to answer phone calls of people asking when the applications they're trying to deal with, will be dealt with wallhead lol

Patience is he key you don't want to get yourself identified as a nuisance.

Latest data on waiting times is here https://basc.org.uk/firearms/firearms-l ... able-2018/ so based on you saying you come under Sussex you are almost a 1/3 of the way through the wait if they are still operating a 42 day turnaround.
