I have just tried this and have to admit it is fun.
Any of you in Lincolnshire interested just use the contact link on http://lincsbelltarget.co.uk/
Not sure where to put it as we do not have that sort of forum.

The bell target teams are located at various pubs in the county. Home and away matches.
Re: http://lincsbelltarget.co.uk/
It is remarkably easy in theory, and as long as you can hit the equivalent of a 6" disk at 100 yards standing, you should achieve perfect scores and if you cannot, it is a great way to learn how to!

The team I am part of won all 5 matches - Oct and Nov. The other half of the season is in Feb-March, so 5 more matches ahead.
Pretty sure all apart from one are away.
We have had practice evenings since the season started, every other Monday ish and plan on doing so March-Oct.
It really is great fun, especially when winning :)
There is a practice evening on Monday 20th at the Nags Head in Middle Rasen...please do turn up if interested.

Btw I shoot with an Original 66 .177 (German) from 1978.
Almost as old as me :)
She is a perfect example of a springer, much prefer them to PCP.

I was shooting a pre war Midland with a PH25 attached recently and it was a cracking rifle to shoot and regularly shoots 25s. Around 3.5 ft/lbs from memory!
We really do need more people for our pub. The team is full with 8 shooters and I have had a couple of people ask if we can sort a second team out so we just need some bodies and it can happen. All you need is an interest in shooting and you are good to go, we supply the rifles and pellets if needed and our teams 'loaner' is an Air Arms MPR so a reasonable rifle. Cost is a couple of pounds an evening plus whatever you drink. I am always on tonic water and the Viking drinks coffee or hot chocolate, however other beverages are available as it is a pub :)

Can someone tell me the point of the jacket this shooter is wearing?
I've heard of target shooting jackets but for the life of me cant work out how this could be advantageous.

I use one in Highpower shooting, it supports the back and the arms, a good fitting one to my mind is worth 30 points across the course (in an 800 point match). You can slump down and be fully supported from the waist up.Gazza wrote:Can someone tell me the point of the jacket this shooter is wearing?

The design is different to the prone jackets as it has to allow the shooter to fire from different positions, a bit like 3P. Try sitting in a TR jacket and you'll look like Smiffy from the Bash street Kids.
