Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

St Huberts Club?

#1 Post by TobyH »

Anyone any experience or member of this club.

Am in the process of filling in my application form and thought I'd see if anyone on here had any info on it other than that of their website/leaflet...

Cheers
Toby

Got their info leaflet and you can be sponsored by people outside the club, but they need to give a reference.

Tryed to join a number of years ago filled the forms in and sent them off.Did not hear anything back so i rang them three months later they said that they were looking at my application and they would be in contact soon.Still waiting years later it would have been ideal because they lease FC ground at Kielder and i used to live there.Looking back i feel it is run more like a gentlemans club than a deer management group. :bad: :bad: :bad:

it'll be easier to join the SAS than the St Huberts and probably less clicky.
