Re: Robert Chombart
I had the privilege to have met Robert (and Phillipe, his fellow shooter) on a Bisley campsite during one of my very first Imperial visits. Whilst there was a bit of a language problem we got by and I became more and more fluent in French as the evening progressed Calvados is your friend, never mind langauge tutors!!
More to the point, we, target shooters, owe an enormous debt to Robert for his continued development work on actions and triggers we regularly use today. CH triggers and the Quadlock action. ( I apologise for any patent misapportionment!) I remember Robert producing a TR vernier rear sight from his pocket and asked for my opinion. I told him it was lovely! Best I could do!! It was to become the Centra sight!!
We have lost a highly knowledgeable member of our community. RIP Robert
