Sept 26/27 Bisley Open Meeting for "Repeating Pistols"

#1 Post by nunhead »

Surrey Branch MLAGB had on their 2020 calendar THREE of the "Repeating Pistol Meetings" which they have been developing for a number of years.
Sadly the ATSC had to cancel their Open Meeeting in April, and as the "Imperial Meeting" was cancelled our involvement alongside the NRA "GR&P" events dueing the "middle weekend" was cancelled.

We are, however, VERY please to confirm that the third of our Open Meetings WILL take place on Cheylesmore !B" on 26/27 September.

We have attached the EntryForm and the Downloads section of the Branch website contains basic R&Rs plus a very useful table showing what is eligible for each Match / Class / Course of Fire.

As "old hands" know, the 15-shot (+ sighters) Courses of Fire are based on pre-WW1 Revolver Courses --- Slow-, Timed- and Rapid-fire, "Bobber" (turning target) and "Surrenden (against the clock).
There are classes for "Standard Percussion revolver" (19th C + fixed sight ROA) -- - 1 and 2 handed; Percussion Target Revolver (incl. Standard) - offhand only but improved versions (sights, grips.... ) allowed; Free Percussion Revolver -- 2 handed allowed ---------- apart from original revolvers BP substitutes allowed IF th erevolver is "Of Proof" for the propellant.
PLUS
"Modern Muzzle-loader" -- smokeless conversions, "Patriot" block loader, modern DA smokeless MLs (Westlake etc...)

It MUST be the cheapest Open Meeting at Bisley -- especially if you can claim the various disounts and/or block-book a firing point.

Try it!

We were advised by the NRA that their "norm" for using Cheylesmore "B" is 10 firers -- i.e., odd numbered firing-points.
HOWEVER, it is possible that for COMPETITION USE ONLY they may be able to make three "dividers" to go on the firing-point so that each bank of 5 targets will be able to use L, C & R targets --- allowing 12 firers per detail.
This is VERY helpful ---- thanks to Rick Wells for this.

That still means that things may well be tight -- - so anyone thinking of entering should do so a.s.a.p.
