Have you tried .311" bullets in it?, to be honest in my experience most .311" commercial bullets, both loose bullets for reloading and in factory made rounds, are actually .310" - .3105", the same goes for milsurp 54r including Soviet/Russian!.WelshShooter wrote:Yep, nothing really to add to Snayperskaya's post. These rifles were not normally scoped so it's highly likely this was retrofitted. In terms of unique selling point, these barrels were made with a groove diameter of .3095" so will shoot .308" and .311" projectiles OK!* You'll struggle to sell this to a collector but you'll find a market for selling it as an "accurate" Mosin Nagant (sorry Snayperskaya!).
A good condition Finn M91 would probably fetch you around £500-600 as that seemed to be the going rate when I was looking for my Finnish Mosina a few years ago. I have no idea what it would be worth with the scope.
*My Finnish M24 bore has the same groove diameter and rifling is decent, not amazing near the bore. It shoots 30cal Lapua Scenar's from 155gr up to 185gr without issue and quite accurately if I say so myself.
Two Soviet exceptions I have personally come across are the T-46-M tracer bullet and the 7n1 sniper bullet, examples of both types measured bang on .311"
