Home range in basement

#1 Post by shotgun sam »

Does anyone know what the rules are about making a range in the basement of a house, for air guns I cannot se any reason that you cannot building one but what about if you also wanted to use 22 lr subs?
If this is in the wrong area of the forum can the moderators move it to the appropriate area.

If you build it to within specs that can contain the bullet, that's the easy part. Getting your FAC conditioned to include the use of your home range may be the bigger issue!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

If its not an 'ancillary' use for the enjoyment of a dwellinghouse you may also need planning permission (change of use) :o lol

Not on all FACs. I’d imagine less than are conditioned for target shooting. And could a basement be argued as land? Or as Mark says above, a dwelling which might need planning permission!

Extraction would be your issue, you need to vent the gases from the muzzle but its not hard to do.

Why change of use? It could be considered as personal sporting use. Does he was a gym, or for a treadmill, or saving a dartboard need permission?
