Stainless Steel Pin Rotary Tumblers 2022

#1 Post by Mike357 »

I'be had a quick search and there doesn't seem to have been much activity on this subject for a few years.

There are now several choices of rotary tumbers from Hornady, RCBS, Frankford Arsenal, Lyman etc as well as the cheap Amazon specials. Those that use them, what are you using and what do you recommend.

Thanks.

£30 eBay treadmill. 4 cuts, 2 welds, job done.
If I had to buy one ready-made today I'd probably get a FART.

The drum is a TL-4 from C&M Topline (USA), but they can also be made from PVC pipe.

I'm still using my ebay special, and very happy with it.
I have one of these, 5kg tumblers.

Me too.....had mine for a few years now, got the s/steel pins from Spud.
Good idea to ask for a spare drum if you're ordering one.

What weight of pins would you use in a 5kg drum? I'll be using it for 44mag only.

Pin suppliers that I contacted generally suggested around 1:1 weight of pins to brass.

I use the 5lb pack of frankford arsenal pins. They are in the drum, 2/3rds filled with brass, top up with hot water, splash of fairy and some citric acid. Spin for an hour
