Taurus scope/red dot mount

24" and less, a place to discuss all things handgun related, section 7.3. Long barrelled revolvers, long barrelled pistols and section 5. Overseas contributions are more than welcome.

Taurus scope/red dot mount

#1 Post by Grifff »

Hi
I've had the Taurus for a few years now and fancy fitting a sight of some description. What's the verdict on the Taurus rail seems odd how it bolts on. I'm not sure what other options are available.

Cheers

I personally don't know what the options are, however when the NRA post the photos of their comps on Facebook there's always pictures of one guy that has an EoTech on his Taurus. Anyone who has had/held an Eotech knows they are VERY well put together and heavy so if the mount can cope with that sort of weight there must be an option out their up to snuff.

Master Class Custom Guns sell a mount that replaces the rear sight and allows you to fit a Shield red dot, or one with a similar footprint. Mine had to be fitted by a gunsmith because the rear sight mounting hole on my Taurus wasn’t central! I believe I was unlucky though.

As mentioned already I can vouch for Andy of Master Class Custom Guns, his work is top quality!

If you are into practical shotgun and need port work doing, lifter welding etc he's your guy!
