Recently watched a film "Land Mine" Danish and German subtitles ref German POWs clearing mines on the Danish coast.

I have not watched that film.

Land of Mine, very poignant title.

I think depending on which side one is approaching that film from, that will explain whose side one is on.

Historically, it was the British who got the POWs to clear the mines. The Danes corroborated...that way they did not have to clear the mines...

The huge bunker complex we visited, it was built using Danish labour. Something I find a tad disturbing, here we have a country which has been invaded and the invaders ask/force/pay (not sure which) the locals to build the fortification.

A bit troubling, isn't it.
