Posted for a friend who is selling up.

"H.M. QUACKENBUSH 22CAL COMBO AIR /.22RF rifle date around 1881 onwards. [about 120years old]. reg # 1925 ..

needs some work ie;

1/ new front sight blade (at some time someone has used a bolt to make one up),

2/mainspring on air side not catching / locking back unless the trigger is pushed,,

3/ had new firing striker made 12 -15 years ago [this gives it a double strike on the rim] but it has never been used /or fired, other than air side ,

4/ patch box cap lost from stock,

5/has some scuffing to the nickel plating on the barrel.

.also

6/ could do with a reamer ran through the breach just to clean it up a bit as very / ultra tight..

buyer must have slot for a Combiation = air/.22lr rifle,
as this has been noted to me by Durham police Firearms licensing dept...

oh yes the brown mark on the action in pic 2 is reflection of table leg & not in the nickel finish.."

I found a rusty one in the rubbish tip of a fallendown house years ago.
