I started with a turret press, I don't regret it at all as it can be a single stage if I want, without the messing around swapping dies in and out.

I also recently bought a kit that reverses the direction of rotation, and a little bar that knocks the case out at the end, has helped with my 44 loads no end as i dont have to remove complete cartridges. Not something for now, but an upgrade to bear in mind

do not use lee scales - buy RCBS 5-0-5's

I can also wholeheartedly reccomend the lee drum powder measure, fantastic accurate powder dispenser

I would say don't base your decision on price. I personally have RCBS gear and I can't fault it. Whatever brand you do buy, I thoroughly recommend the inlinefabrication mounts for the press. it makes it a lot easier to see what's happening.

I used a Lee Turret Press for years on 38spl and 357. A friend made up some washers to back the dies out for 357. I now use it as a single stage press for 303 and 6.5 Swedish. The important thing is to get the press set up at a comfortable height where you can see what is going on just as Halodin says above.

ah yeah, thats the company that make the kit for the turret too.

It's good gear, reasonably priced and that includes shipping.
