The same reason they sold H&K, the possibility of being associated with some nutter shooting a school up using RG stamped ammunition. Not that it stops someone doing it with surplus RG...

I have a 7.62mm LMT and also a good quantity of Sniper marked RG L42A3 ammo 2010 manufacture, the LMT loves it, I also load for it, Lapua brass, 155gr SMK, 43.5gr VIT 140, and 2.79 OAL, works for me

I’d like to know where to buy good quality 147 gr surplus equivalent bullets for reloading

While you're at it get some berdan primed RG brass and do the job properly using berdan primers.

I note that RG has finally entered the modern world & now uses Boxer primed brass.
I have a couple of mates in the US who reload Berdan, using a proprietary hydraulic decapping system. Getting primers is the main issue.

Hello altogether,

a quite interesting subject, this British Nato-Ammo and -Loads. I try to study that from time to time, anyway.

Only to be sure to understand that correct, toffe wrapper: you mean with this velocity the MV of a 155 gr L42 A1-Load in a Lee-Enfield L42 A1-Sniper-Rifle ?

Why would you want to replicate a generic round?
A load tailored to your rifle would be a much better option.

First of all, I don't think that i know this types of ammo well. To get a well matching load for any rifle i think its not the wrong way to search as first a realistic overview of the real ammo used with this rifle-type. As a start, in other words. There are in most cases already other users, be it members of a military or police unit or all the different civilians. Their experience is valuable, it can answer my questions

Especially for an non-reloader like me. Sometimes we succeed in organising surplus service ammo, for example. If not, in such cases it should be possible to give an order of rebuilding this load to an commercial reloading specialist. This service, however, is really expensive. Therefore I shouldn't waste any time and money by trying out a unnecessary number of different reloads then.. .
