Its not the same one by any chance?
No - my school was the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe.

We had our own indoor .22 range in the school grounds, an armoury with a lot of L-E No4s & 8s and a couple of Bren guns (and, madly, 3 Thompsons, but no ammo for those).

.303 we shot at Bisley, or the army ranges at Otmoor.

The only Moor Park I know is this one:

I guess you could use the golf course for practical shooting....

Hello, I am also a new user and find it difficult to make meaningful posts.
I too shot extensively as a cadet at good old Pirbright, many a 303 from my trusty Lee Enfield No4 which yielded a cabinet full of trophies.
Now back after many years trying and failing to match those days.
Being brave and opting for a Lee Enfield No5 MK1 by way of a change.
It's good to be back on the range.

That old L-E #4 would probably be worth good money today if in original condition.

Closest I ever got to a trophy was second prize at a cadet falling plate competition because I had a poorly foot and couldn't run.

No joke to come second mate, I like my targets to be the 300 ones at 25m now :good:
I am just in the process of obtaining a LE#5, well over 50 so trying to relive my youth. lollol

I spent years shooting 600 targets at 1000 yards, that keeps you keen :)

Right now I'm not a member of any club (haven't seriously looked for one yet) - what would have been an obvious choice for me (for smallbore, at least) would have been Ruislip - I live within walking distance, but their range etc has gone, courtesy of HS2, and they're closed to new members. There used to be full-bore shooting in an old quarry in the Harefield/West Hyde area, but that's vanished without trace (can't even find anything on t'internet that proves it ever existed).
There also used to be a very active full-bore pistol club in the Rusilip/Northwood area as well back in the pre-97 era. It was up a wooded lane, and sat next to the 11th tee of Haste Hill golf course.
Long gone now of course.

As an ex-West London resident myself, your only option will be a club that shoots at Bisley.

Have you ever been on a military range? More than your life's worth.
