Fusee, nice. I know of someone with an English equivalent.

We have an Achille Brocot from the1860's ish that is not a chronometer however it has probably dropped 10 seconds at most in the last three months and one of his fathers clocks that just about matches it for accuracy, but is more susceptible to temperature changes. I do like clocks and old stuff :)

Humph ! We're with Dromia on this. No new fangled elektrikkeral currency stuff ! We prefers to trade with oomans using the ikkle bits of yellow grit we finds in our tunnels. They give us guns, we give 'em ikkle shiny yellow stones

There is a certain pleasure to be had from using old equipment made by craftsmen and women and built to last, and even possibly to repair.
Wood and metal construction mostly by hand. If plastic was needed it was Bakelite.
