No, The Falkland Islands Defence Force has been in existence in some shape or form since 1892 with a short, enforced hiatus in 1982...

The current firearms and ammunition ordinance came into effect in 1987 - https://www.legislation.gov.fk/view/htm ... ord-1987-4

memories of impromptu ranges, letting rip to 'get rid' of a few thousand rounds.... cabbing around the islands on army issue motorcycles...this was a couple of years later than when the south americans visited for a short time..... i liked the place
