Hueys with M60's would be better bangbang

Seriously though i agree 5.56/.223 isn't really big enough for a wild pig, or HAWG as they refer to them, imo. But thats the only problem i have with what was shown in the video. To be honest i'd be MORE worried about someone who can hang out of a helicopter shooting at moving targets without enjoying it, just gunning them down with a face like a terminator :run:

Ok this does look like fun bangbang
Those hogs do a lot of damage if you watch programs like hoggers and ladey hoggers on bio channel you will see what they do on one episode a rancher called them in because they had killed and consumed his flock of sheep.
Vicki wont watch these shows because they use dogs to track and then hold the hogs in place till the hunters get there so you have been warned.

I can't be arsed withall the macho, Apocalypse Now crap nor the full auto spraying. However i would like the challenge of trying it with a 7.62 semi auto with appropriate fixed power scope.

I hunt boar here and occassionally on a mate's farm in France which is infested with the buggers. I've also hunted with dogs and knife whilst on hols but it pales in comparison to the troubles experienced in the US. Its not a matter of stalking or hunting in the US; its a matter of culling.

Well you can say that Scotsgun, but there's another matter you haven't considered.....somewhere, someone, is going to have to make a sh1t-load of apple sauce!

Dougan not all of the kills are used as food some are left were they fell as it would be to hard and cost to much to drag them out.

Want to see some EXPERT pig hunting from helicopters?

Google is your friend - just make sure you type New Zealand or Kiwi in the search bar!!
One shot kills, mostly head shots...the Kiwi helo shooters have taken this to a fine art...

My preference would be 6.8SPC as it's a proven pig stopper

That's my mate's problem - he has an old orchard which the boar raid and put on masses of weight. That and getting p*** on the rotten apples.

And that's a problem?...sounds like he's got a ready supply of 'self-marinating' pork there...and some apples left for the sauce tongueout
