They are as refined as they need to be Tovarisch.......rifle for shooting facists and Mujahs,not looking pretty in hands of Proletariat Comrades.

I have shot thousands of rounds through this rifle, never a hiccup and still accurate.

You're probably right, but the one I was taught on had bakelite... :p
Bakalite is tougher and much lighter but it feels rough and looks rough. It's probably the most practical and does not seem to get half as hot as plastic. I think wood looks better , feels better, and does not get hot, the downside for me is the weight.
