I would also recommend the Marlin. My .357 is from 2004 and is still in excellent condition.

I also have a Remlin in 45-70 gov and it has been a decent rifle with no issues.
I both rifles have scopes fitted and I changed the triggers for the WW happy-trigger which makes a huge difference.

Marlins are not very user friendly for a left hander.

You need to keep your mouth shut when shooting and polo necks look sooooo dated.

Never had an issue with the side ejection and I'm a leftie. The cases always eject away from the body/face with my Marlins.

I always wear glasses but never had an issue, and I would have thought a top eject would have been worse for both left and right handers. And if you are one of the wrong-uns who puts a scope on it, the side eject would be better I guess.

I routinely shot my Marlin from the left shoulder as 1500 c.o.f demands it, likewise Bianchi. I never had a problem.

I paid nearly half that for mine..

Turned out it belonged to a fellow club member as well, so I know it was looked after.

The half dozen or Marlins I've had over the years were always a chew on for me with the case eject putting the spent ones in my face and down my front.

Must have had a string of Marlin duffers by the sounds of it.

Never had a problem with top ejects and I currently have three of them.

Scope isn't really something I'd put on an underlever so again a non issue for me.

Yep, I think it is just plain wrong to scope a nice underlever, but many do.

I dont understand why people scope underlevers either. But there is nowt so queer as folk.
